On Wednesday June 7 we visited the Ministry of Justice where someone spoke to us about the journey of judicial reforms in Rwanda.
In the afternoon we went to lunch at a cool place called Africa Bite, which serves food from all over Africa. The buffets here are very popular, and we love going to them. You can get a lot of local food for pretty cheap, and it's usually really good! Afterward, we visited the Ministry of National Unity and Civic Engagement, where the speaker shared with us some of the social programs that they do for people here.
In the evening, Lilly and I went to dance rehearsal that a local a culture group was having. Again, we were able to do this because of the connection I made with Christian, the dance teacher from last week. He has been so gracious to let us tag along to all of the things he does with music in Rwanda, which is a lot.
On Thursday, we visited Prison Fellowship Rwanda, whose motto is transformation, reconciliation, and crime prevention. This organization is one of the main ones that established reconciliation villages throughout Rwanda post-genocide to help perpetrators and survivors come together to live, as well as learn how to start talking to resolve their issues and healing and forgiving.
