What am I doing in Ghana again, you ask? This time, I basically have two intentions.
1) I wanted to visit public secondary school music classes and band rehearsal to get a better sense of what is being taught, how, and by whom. I talked a lot with my colleague Dr. John-Doe during the spring semester while I was in the UK about what I was experiencing and seeing in the secondary school music classrooms there, and he convinced me that I should come to Ghana to do some similar observations. So I decided to try to make it happen!
2) I wanted to see my friends again! In particular I wanted to spend some more time with my dear sister and friend Delali, and talk about some collaborative work she and I are doing. But I also wanted to just go back and see everyone to strengthen those relationships and connections.
And it has turned out to be a fantastic decision to come back! But this time, just for 2.5 weeks.
