My short stay in Worksop

Week of Feb 20-26

Worksop is, well, not a tourist destination. It’s a pretty depressed town from what I could tell. I stayed at the Lock Keeper which is a restaurant and hotel. The hotel was surprisingly really nice and I was so happy to have a nice place to stay here. It is not a town that has a lot to see, so after Matt dropped me off from school each day, I just stayed at the hotel. There’s a Sainsbury which is a grocery story in walking distance. So I went there quite a bit as well as sat in the on site restaurant. I also just watched TV and chilled in my room. It was nice to be chill since last week was so much moving around and excitement. The downside is that I didn’t have a microwave or a fridge in my room so my food options were quite limited. I did the best I could, let’s just say that. I ate a lot of pre-prepared food that is available widely at grocery stores in the UK – they make it pretty easy for people to come in and grab and go, which was the case here as well. I tried to not spend too much money this week since I felt like I spent so much last week. All in all, it was a low key, chill week of not doing much, which I welcomed. I did visit the town center on Saturday where I sat at a cute coffee shop and walked around. The town was not cute. I was glad to be leaving when I did on Sunday.

These are some pics of the locks on the stream next to the Lock Keeper Hotel where I stayed.

These are some pics of the downtown area with the cute coffee shop I found, called Piccolo Espresso.

Here are some pics of my travels on the train to get into and out of Worksop. And the Worksop train station. It's cute and tiny. The bigger station I connected in was one of the ones in Manchester.
