Danelle and Scott Day 5 and my last day in Ghana

Saturday, November 26 was our last day in Ghana. We packed in another excursion before our flight left at 11 PM. Today we went to the Tettah Quarshie Cocoa Farm where they taught us how cocoa is grown and harvested. It was a low-key adventure, which was nice, and it was interesting. And we got to taste raw cocoa.

From there or tour guide took us to the Aburi Botanical Gardens, where he showed us all the different kinds of trees that are grown they are. They were all kinds, and if we wouldn’t have had a tour guide, we would not have known any of that stuff. Again, a low-key adventure for the last day.

We also stopped in Art Center, and had some pegs for our kpanlogo drums made. That was probably the coolest part for me, because we got to watch them being made!

From there, we drove back into Accra and had a lovely lunch at a nice restaurant. And went shopping at a store I wanted to go back to since I went at the beginning of my trip. It’s called Global Mamas. It’s a women’s cooperative where they sell items made by women and they help with women’s empowerment. T

Then we basically headed back to the hotel to get all of our luggage ready for the airport. And then we were off to the airport by about 6:30. Here are some pics from our venture at the airport. It was quite stressful to me, I will admit.

What a great week with Danelle and Scott! And what an even more amazing four months! Ghana, I will miss you. Until next time!
